Formerly known from Mexico (Chiapas), Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, and Belize ( Polhemus & Polhemus, 1995), P. horvathi is present also in northwestern Ecuador; this represents its southernmost distribution limit.
