Length. Male: 4.0– 4.1mm; female: 4.1mm.
Color and structure similar to G. minorcephala , but can be distinguished by slightly shorter vertex with slightly deeper depressed basal area (Plate II: A–B) and slightly shorter face (Plate II: C).
Male genitalia. Pygofer side with dorsal margin abruptly curved ventroposteriorly with hind margin tapered and narrowly rounded ( Fig. 3A). Style preapical lobe long, apophysis long and digitate ( Fig. 3C). Aedeagus hinged, with basal part articulated to shaft, shaft relatively straight and slightly tapered to truncate apex in lateral and ventral view ( Figs 3E–F).
Female. Sternite VII posterior margin as in Plate II: D.
Material examined. Holotype: ♂, China, Hunan Prov., Chenzhou City , 27.vii.1985, coll. Zhang Yalin & Chai Yonghui ( NWAFU) . Paratypes: China: Zhejiang Prov.: 1♂, Mt. Gutian , 28.vii.1985, coll. Liu Zuyao & Zheng Jianzhong ( NWAFU) ; Yunnan Prov.: 1♂, Jinping County, 1900m, 10.vi.2009, coll. Cui Wei ( NWAFU) .
Additional material. The following female specimen may be this species, 1♀, China, Yunnan Prov., Tengchong County, 1632m, 05.vi.2011, coll. Lu Lin ( NWAFU) .
Remarks. The new species is similar to G. minorcephala externally, but can be distinguished by the longer style preapical lobe ( Fig. 3C) and shape of the aedeagal shaft ( Figs 3E–F).
Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the Latin word “truncata” referring to the shape of the aedeagal apex.
