Diagnosis. Glaucocharis huanggangensis Song & Chen, 2001 is similar to G. exsectella ( Chistoph, 1881) in the female genitalia, but its ductus bursae is nearly same thick throughout, which is swollen posteriorly and much thicker medially in G. exsectella . In the male genitalia, the gnathos has small triangular protuberances dorso- and ventroapically, and the valva is convex at apex in G. huanggangensis , whereas the gnathos bears a large triangular dorsoapical protuberance, and the valva is incised distinctly at apex in G. exsectella .
Description. Adult forewing length 5.0– 6.5 mm.
Female genitalia ( Fig. 29 View FIGURES 26 – 29 ). Papilla analis ovate, about half length of apophysis anterioris. Tergite eight slightly shorter than apophysis anterioris. Ductus bursae nearly straight, about same thick throughout. Ductus seminalis arising from about middle of ductus bursae. Corpus bursae ovate; signum rounded, placed at posterior part of corpus bursae.
Distribution. China (Fujian, Guizhou, Hubei).
Remarks. The female of this species is described here for the first time. The ductus bursae or the corpus bursae often has the deciduous needlelike curnuti from the male genitalia. Chen et al. (2001) described and figured the male adult and genitalia.
