Diagnosis. This species can be distinguished from its congeners by the distal two thirds of the valva densely covered with setae on ventral margin; the anterior margin of the saccus having two clusters of several agglutinately long scales, each with seven distinctive broadened distal scales.
Description. Adult ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 2 – 10 ). Forewing length 6.0–8.0 mm. Frons and vertex yellowish white. Labial palpus yellowish white to pale yellow on outer side, mixed with pale brown; white on inner side. Maxillary palpus yellowish white to pale brown, brown medially. Antenna with dorsal surface yellowish white and pale brown alternately, ventral surface pale yellow ciliated white. Patagium yellowish white. Tegula covered with yellowish white scales, some scales pale brown distally. Thorax pale brown. Forewing ocherous yellow, sparsely covered with pale brown scales; antemedian line silvery gray, outcurved at both anterior and posterior one third, medially angled inwards; reniform stigmata double, pale brown, small and rounded; postmedian line silvery gray, angled outwards at anterior one third, then parallell with termen, sinuate; apex pale brown, apical mark absent; temen pale brown, with seven blackish brown marginal spots; fringe pale brown except white basally at apex. Hindwing yellowish white; postmedian line pale brown, parallell with termen; fringe yellowish white, with pale brown median line. Hindleg with tarsus bearing a cluster of blackish brown scales at apex in male, bearing two clusters of blackish brown sclaes at both middle and apex in female. Abdomen yellowish white to pale yellow.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 17 – 19 ). Uncus broad and short, narrowed to rounded apex. Gnathos slightly longer than uncus, broad basally, tapering to blunt apex; distal half armed with tiny dentations. Valva broad basally, narrowed to bluntly rounded apex, ventrally with dense setae on distal two thirds. Costa long and thin, straight, ending in a short spine, reaching about five sixths of valva. Juxta nearly triangular, broadened from narrow base to posterior margin. Saccus with several agglutinate long scales anterolaterally, which bear seven distinctive scales, three scales broad and flat, four scales slender and swollen medially. Phallus long and thin, curved slightly, nearly as long as valva; medially with sclerotized plate, about one fifth length of phallus; distally with many tiny dentations and a row of small spinelike cornuti.
Female genitalia ( Fig. 26 View FIGURES 26 – 29 ). Papilla analis ovate, concave posteriorly, about one third length of apophysis posterioris. Tergite eight about one third length of apophysis anterioris. Ostium bursae broad, surrounded with dense tiny spines, about twice as thick as antrum. Antrum tubular, curved slightly, slightly thicker than median part of ductus bursae. Ductus seminalis arising from anterior margin of antrum. Ductus bursae long and thin, distally thickened towards corpus bursae. Corpus bursae rounded, densely covered with tiny spines; signum with anterior half broad slightly, anterior margin convex, posterior half nearly rectangular, placed at posterior part of corpus bursae.
Distribution. China (Hainan, Yunnan).
Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin setosus = setose, in reference to the ventral margin of valva with dense setae in the male genitalia.
