Global distribution: NT.
Argentinian distribution: Buenos Aires, La Pampa, Río Negro.
Ecology: This species was found in shallow permanent lakes. It was recorded in low altitude range (10–77 m a.s.l.), with neutral to alkaline waters (pH: 7.5–9.05), in wide electrical conductivity values (2220–10950 μS/cm), and oxygen dissolved values around 2 mg /l.
