Global distribution: NT.
Argentinian distribution: Chubut, Neuquén, Río Negro, Santa Cruz
Ecology: This species was found in stagnant waters. It was recorded in altitude between 865 and 1049 m a.s.l.), with temperatures ranging from 4.6° to 21.3°C, alkaline (pH: 8–9.5) and well oxygenated (10.5–14.3 mg /l) waters, in electrical conductivity values ranging between 126 and 42400 μS/cm, showing a remarkably high salinity tolerance.
