Western Atlantic— USA, Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, Central America, Venezuela, Guyana, Brazil ( Maranhão, Piauí, Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Sergipe, Bahia, São Paulo) ( Rieger 1998; Melo 1999; Coelho et al. 2007; Felder et al. 2009; Nucci & Melo 2011).

Remarks. There is one specimen collected in Ubatuba (MZUSP 12880) mentioned by Nucci & Melo (2011).
