Material examined. 2 males (19.2 x 12.7 mm, 20.7 x 14.8 mm) ( DABFUK), Kilton, 17 May 2015 ; 1 male (22.0 x 15.0 mm) ( DABFUK), Kavaratti, 25 May 2015 ; 1 male (25.2 x 17.1 mm) ( DABFUK), Amini, 29 May 2014 ; 1 male (18.9 x 12.9 mm) ( DABFUK), Bitra, 10 May 2015 .

Remarks. Previously recorded from Lakshadweep by Alcock (1898) and Borradaile (1902b). This is a common species in the Indo-West Pacific ( Koh & Ng 2008) and was observed on the reefs from the 10 islands in the group, although not all the specimens were collected.
