Diagnosis. Cuticle finely annulated. Lateral alae extending from posterior pharynx end to the tail. Somatic setae absent in females and in males situated only on the posterior body end. Labial and cephalic sensillae in the shape of thin and short setae. Cephalic capsule well developed and smooth. Amphidial fovea in the shape of a circle and located centrally on the cephalic capsule. Buccal cavity (stoma) narrow, armed with one dorsal and two subventral teeth. Pharynx with rounded terminal bulb. Spicules with large capitulum; two gubernacula. 20–31 precloacal supplementary organs. A characteristic, strongly-developed cylinder is present around the cloaca. Tail slender, gradually narrowing, in males with 3–4 pairs of thorn-shaped subventral setae.
Type and only species: Micromicron cephalatum Cobb, 1920 [syn: Pseudochromadora cephalata (Cobb, 1920) Gerlach, 1963 ; Micromicron luticola Timm, 1952 ; Pseudochromadora luticola ( Timm, 1952) Andrássy, 1959 ; Desmodora (Pseudochromadora) quadripapillata apud Coomans, Vincx, & Decraemer, 1985; Desmodora vietnamica Gagarin & Nguyen, 2010 ].
