Diagnosis. Inframedian latus wide, with four to six angles, umbo sub-central; carinal latus wide, umbo not significantly protruding.

Type species. Scalpellum nymphocola Hoek, 1883 .

Composition. 11 species.

Distribution. Worldwide. Known depth range 28 to 6070 m.
