Distribution in Israel: the species is known only from a single locality in the Jerusalem mountains ( Figure 4 View FIGURE 4 A).

Global distribution: the species is known only from Israel.

Taxonomic and nomenclatural notes. S. fimbriata has been recognised provisionally as a distinct species after a recent revision of the entire genus Stenotaenia Koch, 1847 (Bonato & Minelli 2008) .
