3.1.2. Dracoderes comb. nov., emended diagnosis
Dracoderidae with sternal plates maintaining a relatively uniform width in all segments, giving the trunk a cylindrical appearance. Dorsal spines always present on segments 3 to 9, usually on segment 2 as well, but never on segment 1. Laterally displaced spines appear in paradorsal positions, but never in subdorsal. Spines are never present in the lateral or ventral series of segments 1 and 2, but may occur on segments 3 to 5. Males with three long, tubular and flexible penile spines; dorsal penile spine always longer median and ventral ones.
