Musbrnoia Dworakowska, 1972 View in CoL
Type species: Aidola fumistriga Melichar, 1914 Aidola fumistriga Melichar, 1914b: 143
Musbrnoia Dworakowska, 1972b: 395 View in CoL
Description. Body robust, with numerous pits on surface of vertex, face, pronotum, scutum, basal 1/3 of forewing and abdomen. Head in dorsal view with anterior margin rounded, subparallel to posterior margin, slightly narrower than pronotum; coronal suture visible only at base. Face convex in profile, male anteclypeus narrow. Fore wing with fourth apical cell almost as long as the third, AA and AP veins present; hind wing with RA vein.
Male 2S abdominal apodemes short and narrow, not reaching hind margin of third sternite.
Pygofer side well pigmented basally, with roundish membranous pits on basal half, hind and ventral margin membranous with furrows, with group of rigid setae at dorso-caudal angle; dorsal appendage lamellate, well sclerotized, movably articulated to pygofer side, shifted caudad; ventral appendage absent. Male 9th sternite short, integrated with pygofer side, without membranous cleft present in other Erythroneurini . Subgenital plate elongate, weakly pigmented, extended beyond hind margin of pygofer side, basal 2/3 parallel sided, narrow, usually with subapical angulate projection on lateral margin; with one or more stout microsetae on angulate projection and row beneath it along margin, with 3–4 macrosetae centrally near lateral margin and some microsetae scattered on disc distally. Style slim, tapering apically, basal part extremely short, preapical lobe small but distinct. Connective Yshaped or triangular, manubrium rudimentary to long, with or without central lobe. Aedeagus usually with unpaired ventral process arising near base and extended distad (exception: M. corollaris sp. nov.); shaft tubular; preatrium short; dorsal apodeme well developed; gonopore subapical, ventral.
Remarks. Examination of the new species indicates that the central lobe of the connective is absent, but the dorsal surface of the subgenital plate base ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 f) is concave and transparent, giving the appearance of the presence of a connective central lobe. Therefore, published illustrations and descriptions of the connective of the type species (not examined) may be incorrect.
Distribution. Java, Thailand, Vietnam.
