Type species: Teratura (Teratura) monstrosa Redtenbacher, 1891
Generic diagnosis. Body small to median size. Hypognathous. Fastigium verticis conical, apex blunt. Metazona little long and high. Thoracic foramen open. Hind wings longer than tegmina obviously. Posterior margin of male tenth abdominal tergite concave, lateral corners of median notch with symmetrical processes or not. Apices of male cerci with wide dorsal lobe and narrow ventral one. Epiproct large, with lobes and/or processes. Male subgenital plate normal, with long styli. Male genitalia with sclerotized area. Female subgenital plate and cerci variable.
