Holotype ♀, Madagascar, Mont Tsaratanana ( MNHN). Holotype by monotypy. Labels. Platygaster {illeg.}/ T Philippiae / ex galles n. sp. T/ fleurs Philippia/ Mt. Tsaratanana [ holotype ♀].

Remarks. The specimen is entire, and is dry-mounted on a microscope slide, the cover slip ringed with soft colourless resin.
