Leucothrips Reuter View in CoL :

Of the five species placed in this genus, populations identified as theobromae have been studied from various places between Trinidad, Colombia and southern Mexico. However, at present theobromae can be distinguished from furcatus only by the presence of a small red pigmented area at the base of the antennae. These tiny species appear to have been dispersed in recent years across the Pacific (Mound et al. 2016), and nigripennis was dispersed around the world many years ago by the trade in cultivated ferns ( Mound 1999).
