( Figs 66 View FIGURE 66 , 87 View FIGURE 87 )
Diagnosis. This species is characterized by the presence of the head with black spots on the gena, the pronotum with brown spots on the anterolateral angle, the meso- and metanotum without markings, the quadrate cell im of forewing, the gradates of fore- and hindwing in three divergent rows, and the invagination of male gonarcus narrowest at middle and wide respectively at base and tip.
Description. Male. Body length 14.0– 14.4 mm, forewing length 17.5–19.2 mm, hindwing length 16.1–17.1 mm.
Head with black spots on gena, vertex raised. Compound eyes prominent and black. Antennae yellow, scape and pedicel wider than flagellum. Frons and clypeus not marked. Maxillary and labial palpi brownish yellow.
Pronotum anterior margin shorter than posterior margin, with small brown spots on anterolateral angle; meso- and metanotum without markings.
Legs with dense setae, without spots. Pretarsal claws brown, with basal dilation.
Forewing with brown shadings on CuP; base of Rs, CuP and gradate series brown. Pterostigma indistinct. Costal area with 26–30 crossveins; 15–19 radial crossveins present. m1 smaller than m2; im quadrate; 10–12 psm-psc crossveins present. c1 smaller than c2, dcc opened. A1 forked, A2 and A3 simple. Gradates in three divergent rows and brown, inner gradate series with 5–8 crossveins, middle gradate series with 8–9 crossveins, outer gradate series with 10–12 crossveins.
Hindwing without shadings. Costal area with 16–22 crossveins; 16–17 radial crossveins and 9–10 psm-psc crossveins present. Gradates in three divergent rows, inner gradate series with 6–8 crossveins, middle gradate series with 5–6 crossveins, outer gradate series with 9 crossveins.
Abdomen with dense setae. Tergum VII and sternum VII subquadrate in lateral view; tergum VIII slightly shorter than tergum VII; sternum VIII fused with sternum IX and with small tubercle near tip; tergum IX fused with ectoproct. Callus cerci ovoid. Gonarcus arcuate, invagination on median arch narrowest at middle and wide at base and on top, lateral arms narrow at base and wide at tip; entoprocessus widest at tip; arcessus rounded at base but pointed at tip.
Type material. Holotype ♂, China, Yunnan, Nujiang, Gongshan, Dulongjiang , light, 1605 m, 2013.VII.03, Xuankun Li ( CAU) . Paratypes: 1♂, same as holotype, 1409 m, 2013.VI.29, Xuankun Li ( CAU) ; 1♂, same as holotype, 1542 m, 2013.VII.01, Wei Zhang ( CAU) .
Etymology. The specific epithet ‘ triphlebia ’ refers to gradates of forewing and hindwing arranged into three divergent rows.
Distribution. China (Yunnan).
Remarks. This new species is similar to Retipenna sinica comb. nov. in the gradates of fore- and hindwings in three divergent rows and the quadrate cell im of forewing. This new species has brown spots on the anterolateral angle of pronotum, the invagination of male gonarcus narrowest at middle and wide respectively at base and tip, and the entoprocessus widest at tip. However, R. sinica comb. nov. has no spots on the thorax, and it has deep V-shaped invagination of male gonarcus and the arcessus rounded at base but pointed at tip.
