Ankylopteryx delicatula Banks, 1937: 280 View in CoL . Type locality: Japan (Okinawa). Syntype in MCZ .
Diagnosis. This species is characterized by the presence of two black interantennal spots, two pale brown stripes below antennae, the gena marked with black spots, the pronotum with blackish-brown spots on the anterolateral angle, the mesonotum and metanotum with blackish-brown stripe, the quadrate cell im of forewing, and the wings with brownish vittae along posterior margin.
Description. Female. Body length 8.50 mm, forewing length 11.80 mm, hindwing length 11.30 mm.
Head narrow, vertex raised. Compound eyes brown. Antennae yellow, scape and pedicel wider than flagellum; two interantennal spots small and black; two pale brown stripes below antennae. Clypeal margin with black stripes. Gena marked with black spots. Maxillary and labial palpi pale brownish yellow.
Pronotum posterior margin longer than anterior margin, with square shaped blackish-brown spots on anterolateral angle; mesonotum and metanotum with blackish-brown stripe along margin.
Legs with dense setae. Pro- and mesotibia with median black spot. Pretarsal claws brown, with basal dilation.
Forewing broad, marked with brownish vittae along base of posterior margin. Pterostigma dark brown. Costal area broad basally, with 25 crossveins; 11 radial crossveins present. Base of Rs with pale brown markings. m1 smaller than m2, im quadrate; 8 crossveins present between Psm and Psc. c1 smaller than c2, dcc closed. A1 forked, A2 and A3 simple. Inner gradate series with 5 crossveins, outer gradate series with 6 crossveins.
Hindwing narrow, marked with brownish vittate along middle of posterior margin. Pterostigma brown. Costal area with 19 crossveins; 9 radial crossveins and 8 psm-psc crossveins present. A1 forked, A2 and A3 simple. Inner gradate series with 4 crossveins, outer gradate series with 5 crossveins.
Material. 1 ex, China, Yunnan, Jinghong, Sanchahe , 620 m, 1981.IV.12, Chikun Yang ( CAU); 1♀ , China, Yunnan, Yingjiang, Tongbiguan Provincial Nature Reserve , 2012.V.02, Feiyang Liang ( CAU) .
Distribution. China (Yunnan, Hong Kong); Japan (Okinawa).
Remarks. Banks (1937) originally described this species without providing genital characters. Tsukaguchi (1995) redescribed this species and provided information about the male genitalia. The specimens we examined have lost their abdomens unfortunately.
