With character states of Archaeorchestidae .
Adult: Body somewhat flattened (length about 2.2 times maximum height), proterosoma of normal size, comprising about 1/3 total length. Integument foveolate on notogaster, ventral plate and prodorsum, reticulate on legs; cerotegument with large tubercles arranged around foveolae on notogaster and ventral plate. Prodorsum with posterior transverse ridge connecting costate lamellae to each other and to bothridia; in multibranched, short, length no more than four times maximal width. Notogastral grooves accentuated by ridges, humeral angle not present; seta c 2 inserted closely anterior to c 3. Legs homotridactylous, with claws dentate along external curvature. Tarsal and tibial solenidia without basal keel; on leg I all insert on separate long apophyses. Setae (pl) on tarsus I and l' on all segments of legs strongly curved and barbed.
Immatures: Proterosoma with transverse ridge connecting costate lamellae posteriorly; seta le minute or absent in larva, small in tritonymph. Trochanters of all legs with spines directed distally in larva; spines absent from tritonymph. Tarsal and tibial solenidia without basal keel; on leg I all insert on separate long apophyses; some leg setae strongly curved and barbed as in adult. Scalps roughened, in addition to large folds. Cuticle of epimeral region foveolate in nymph.
