Range: — Panama to Amazonian Brazil and Bolivia (BE, CO, LP, PA).
Ecology: —Common; epiphytic in humid forests; to 150–850(1500) m.
Notes: —Specimens from higher elevations (800–1500 m) have darker rhizome scales and are somewhat larger overall with longer petioles, and have been called Polypodium apagolepis de la Sota , but these differences appear to be clinal and not consistent.
