Range: — Brazil and Paraguay; Peru and Bolivia (CO, LP, SC), probably also further north in the Andes.
Ecology: —Locally fairly common; epiphytic and terrestrial in humid forests and plantations; 350–2100 m.
Notes: —Differs from S. fraxinifolium by its attenuate, spreading, less strongly bicolorous rhizome scales with dark centers and narrower pale margins. The pinnae tend to be longer and narrower than in S. fraxinifolium , but there is overlap.
