Range:— Antilles; central Mexico to Bolivia, Paraguay and southcentral Brazil.
Ecology:— Very common; usually epiphytic and on fallen trunks, rarely terrestrial or saxicolous, in humid and semihumid forests; to 2600(3050) m. Collects fallen debris among the leaf bases, where it serves as nutrient supply and for water storage.
Notes: —Most similar to, and often confused with, N. albopunctatissimum ( Lellinger 1973) .
