Range: —Greater Antilles, Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia (LP), northern and southeastern Brazil ( Carvalho et al. 2012).
Ecology: — Rare, known from two collections from Valle del río Zongo near Huaylipaya ( Jiménez 8879, 8938, LPB); epiphyte in wet forests; 1900–2350 m .
Notes: —Differing from C. pilipes in bearing ciliate rhizome scales and in having a dark sclerenchymatous rachis abaxially.
