Range: — Endemic to Bolivia (CO), known only from the type collection: Brooke 6783 ( BM) ; erroneously reported from Chile ( Alston et al. 1981; www.tropicos.org; 16 Mar 2017), probably based on a mislocalized specimen .

Ecology: —Rare; terrestrial in humid forests; 3000 m.
