Family Sididae Baird, 1850

Diaphanosoma Fischer, 1854 . One empty shell, belonging to this genus, was found in a well near Bronswinkel ( Bonaire) ( Rammner 1933).

Penilia avirostris (Dana, 1849) . This is a common species along the coasts of the Caribbean Sea ( Della Groce & Angelino 1987). It is known from the coastal waters around Jamaica, Colombia and Venezuela ( Grahame 1976; Rose et al. 2004; Franco-Herrera et al. 2006; Lue & Webber 2014; Ortega et al. 2014). Found at the Venezuelan coast near Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao ( Ortega et al. 2014).
