( Figs 14 View FIGURES 11 – 14 , 20 View FIGURES 15 – 20 )
Type material. Holotype ♂, CHINA: Mt. Baiyun (33°43′N, 111°52′E), Song County, Henan Province, 1580 m, 20.vii.2002, leg. Xinpu Wang, genitalia slide No. ZH 06028. GoogleMaps
Description. Adult ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 11 – 14 ) with wingspan 15.5 mm. Head dark brown. Labial palpus with first segment grayish white; second segment brown; third segment purplish black. Antenna blackish brown, with purple metallic luster; basal 5/6 of flagellum with pectinate scaling on dorsal edge. Thorax and tegula brown, with scattered red scales in some individuals. Forewing red, black at base, costal margin black along basal 5/6; with two sub-parallel black streaks: one streak extending from basal 1/6 to lower angle along lower margin of cell, another streak extending from basal 1/6 along anal vein to basal 2/3 of dorsum; cilia dark brown tinged with red except apex entirely red. Hindwing brown, with hyaline space beneath basal 1/3 of cell; cilia brown. Legs grayish brown, with suffused white scales.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 20 View FIGURES 15 – 20 ). Uncus broad at base, gradually narrowed to apex, with densely spaced long hairs laterally; apex notched at middle, with two small tooth-like posterolateral processes. Gnathos absent. Tegumen nearly trapezoidal, about twice length of uncus. Valva broad in basal half, gradually narrowed toward apex in distal half, with group of densely spaced long hairs at middle, apex narrowly rounded; costa straight; transtilla narrowly triangular; sacculus reaching middle of ventral margin of valva, tapered, with long setae on ventral margin. Vinculum narrowed posteriorly; saccus sub-triangular, about 1/3 length of uncus. Juxta tapered, pointed medially on anterior margin, blunt on posterior margin; anellus lobes oval, about same length as juxta, with long hairs. Aedeagus approximately 1.2 times length of valva, basal 2/3 uniformly broad, distal 1/3 distinctly narrowed and produced triangularly; cornutus absent.
Biology. Unknown.
Distribution. China (Henan).
Diagnosis. This species is similar to A. ignipicta . It can be distinguished by the forewing having two longitudinal sub-parallel black streaks, the valva with group of densely spaced long hairs at middle, and the tapered juxta in the male genitalia. In A. ignipicta , the forewing has one broad longitudinal black band, the long hairs on the valva are not grouped at middle, and the juxta is sub-rounded.
Etymology. This name of species is derived from the Latin prefix para - and the name ignipicta of another species, referring to their similarity.
