Type species: Dromanthomorphus cyaneus Pic, 1921 fixed by monotypy.
= Flabellapalochrus Pic, 1923b: 49 , 51, type species: Hapalochrus mirabilis Pic, 1907 fixed by monotypy, synonymized by Wittmer 1990.
= Pectinus Evers, 1987: 11 , 14, 50, 51–52, type species: Hapalochrus sjostedti Bourgeois, 1908 fixed by original designation, synonymized by Tshernyshev 2015: 395.
Diagnosis. Moderate or large-size (c. 3.5–5.0 mm) soft-winged flower beetles with the body elongate, wide, parallel-sided and slightly expanded posteriorly. Metallic blue or green with yellow parts, i.e. sides of pronotum, elytra, palpi, basal segments of antennae, median part of abdomen and legs. Antennae filiform, serrate or flabellate, long, expanding over the base of elytra. Head small, flat, narrower than pronotum, eyes simple, not large, slightly protruding. Pronotum transverse, almost completely straight anteriorly, and weakly expanded posteriorly with evenly rounded angles and distinctly marginate sides. Elytra subparallel, slightly expanded just behind the middle, evenly and finely punctured, with distinct and weakly protruding shoulders; apices evenly rounded, simple. Anterior tarsi with distinct transverse not large comb above the 2nd segments, anterior tibiae excavate ventrally in apical half, not swollen, intermediate tibiae swollen, excavate ventrally, lacking appendages or hairs, posterior tibiae simple, straight, Anterior and intermediate femora swollen, anterior sometimes with dent, intermediate excavate in inner side, posterior simple, anterior coxae sometimes with indentation. Metathorax swollen apically, possesses gladiate appendage in middle directed to intermediate coxae, long reaching mesothorax or very small.
Pygidium undivided, evenly rounded, with typically roof-shaped apophysis in middle, ultimate abdominal ventrite 8-bilaciniate, with typically curved apices, aedeagus slightly curved dorsally and evenly rounded. Tegumen with specifically curved apices of parameres.
Species of the genus are similar to representatives of Nudopectinus Evers, 1987 and differ but the presence of metathoracic appendage, from Mimapalochrus Tshernyshev and Oculapalochrus Tshernyshev which are distinguished by small not spherical eyes.
Notes. Species of the genus are distributed in South-East Asia and throughout Africa.
