PENOLOGY.— Flowering: February–April, September–November; fruiting: February–April, September–November.
DISTRIBUTION.— Native to India; widely cultivated, and sometimes becoming naturalized elsewhere (e.g., Tamaulipas).
HABITAT.— Tropical subdeciduous forest, disturbed sites.
ELEVATION.— 200–1000 meters.
NOTES.— Daniel (1995) and Daniel and Acosta C. (2003) provided descriptions of this species ( Fig. 5I View FIGURE ).
