The species was described from Akmolinsk (currently Astana) Province of Kazakhstan on Phragmites communis Trin. ( Emeljanov, 1959) View in CoL . Vilbaste (1980) recorded this species from Central Tuva (Dus-Hol' Lake) and from Southern Tuva (type locality of C. stebajevi— Irbitei and Hol'-Oogu River), on reed as well.
