Copromorphoidea
43. Copromorphidae – tropical fruitworm moths
Small (14–25 mm wingspan) cryptically colored moths with moderately broad, round- ed wings. Th ere are no readily distinguishable features, and no clear autapomorphies separate them from the Carposinidae . Larvae are borers or concealed feeders.
Approximately 40 species of Copromorphidae are known worldwide, primarily in the tropics. Five species are known from North America; one of these occurs AB. The North American fauna was treated by Heppner (1984, 1986).
