Type species. Mutilla biguttata Costa, 1858 (female), by original designation.

Taxonomic history. Senior subjective synonym of Glossomyrme Suárez, 1979 (male) according to Lelej & Kabakov, 1980: 191. Valid generic name.

Sex association. The male of the type species was associated and identified (as Mutilla mervensis Radoszkowski, 1893: 73 ) by Nonveiller in Lelej & Kabakov, 1980: 191.

Distribution. Palaearctic.
