Type species. Smicromyrme ausonius Invrea, 1950 (male), by original designation (misspelled as ausonia).
Taxonomic history. Reduced to subgeneric status in Smicromyrme Thomson, 1870 by Lelej, 1985b: 219. Valid subgeneric name.
Sex association. The female of the type species was associated and identified (as Smicromyrme sabatius Invrea, 1953b: 9 ) by Lelej, 1978: 82.
Distribution. Palaearctic.
