Gender. Feminine.
Type species. Trogaspidia aurata Bischoff, 1920 (male, female; syntypes), by original designation.
Taxonomic history. Valid subgeneric name.
Sex association. The type species was described from both sexes by Bischoff, 1920: 385, 425.
Distribution. Afrotropical.
