Gender. Feminine.
Type species. Myrmosa brunnipes Lepeletier, 1845 (female), by original designation.
Taxonomic history. Junior subjective synonym of Paramyrmosa Saussure, 1880 according to Krombein, 1976: 258. Subjectively invalid name.
Sex association. The male of the type species was associated and identified (as Myrmosa cognata Costa, 1858: 6 ) by Zavattari, 1910: 3.
Distribution. Palaearctic.
