Myrmosula Bradley, 1917 (as subgenus of Myrmosa Latreille, 1796 ). Trans. Amer. Ent. Soc. 43: 249. Male, female.

Gender. Feminine.

Type species. Myrmosa parvula Fox, 1893 (male), by subsequent designation of Bridwell, 1920: 392.

Taxonomic history. Raised to generic status by Bridwell, 1920: 392. Reduced to subgeneric status (in Myrmosa Latreille, 1796 ) by Krombein, 1940: 456. Subjective junior synonym of Paramyrmosa Saussure, 1880 according to Pate, 1947: 196. Resurrected as valid genus by Krombein, 1951a: 748. Valid generic name.

Sex association. The female of the type species was associated and identified (as Brachycistis bimaculata Fox, 1899: 285 ) by Krombein, 1940: 457.

Distribution. Nearctic.
