Spinulotilla Bischoff, 1920 . Arch. Naturgesch. 86A(1–2): 23, 26 (in key); 160 (description). Male, female.

Gender. Feminine.

Type species. Mutilla peringueyi André, 1902 (male), by original designation.

Taxonomic history. Reduced to subgeneric status (in Smicromyrme Thomson, 1870 ) by Bradley & Bequaert, 1923: 229. Reinstated to generic status by Nonveiller in FAO, 1975: 170 and Nonveiller, 1977: 298. Valid generic name.

Sex association. The female of the type species was described by Bingham, 1912: 532.

Distribution. Afrotropical.
