Taxonomic history. Junior subjective synonym of Ctenotilla Bischoff, 1920 according to Brothers, 1975: 592 . Resurrected to generic status by Nonveiller, 1979: 11. Valid generic name.

Sex association. The female of the type species has not been recognized; the presumed female was associated but not described by Nonveiller, 1979: 15.
