Taxonomic history. Junior subjective synonym of Ephuta Say, 1836 according to Ashmead, 1904: 5, 6. Subjectively invalid name.

Sex association. The male of the type species has not been recognized; the presumed males of other species were associated and described by André, 1902c: 43.

Distribution. Neotropical.
