The genus is distributed throughout the Afrotropical and Oriental Regions ( Lorenz 2021). There is no formal revision of the genus, but a key for the southern species of Africa was provided by Serrano et al. (2017). There are 11 and three species recognized for the former and the later Regions, respectively ( Lorenz 2021). The genus was not recorded for Guinea ‒ Bissau until I described a new species for this country.
