Megalastrum connexum (Kaulf.) A.R.Sm. & R.C.Moran, Amer. Fern J. View in CoL 77(4): 127. 1987 [1988].
= Ctenitis connexa (Kaulf.) Copel., Ann. Cryptog. Phytopathol. 5[Gen. Fil.]: 124.1947.
This species, from southeastern Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay ( Moran et al. 2009b), differs from M. subincisum by abaxially lacking hairs on costae and costules (vs. densely short-hairy). Further, the leaf segments are broader and thinner-textured than in M. subincisum . Specimens from Bolivia previously determined as this ( Kessler & Smith 2006) are now mostly regarded as M. rupicola .
