Range: — Peru and Bolivia (CO, LP, SC); northern range limit and contact or overlap zone with closely related E. vulcanicum Christ , from Ecuador and Peru, is unknown.

Ecology: —Common; epiphytic and less commonly terrestrial among dense bryophyte mats in humid forests; 2000–3500 m.
