ORTHOCERUS CLAVICORNIS (LINNAEUS, 1758) Examined material: Recorded from only one locality: 1 km E Chernyakhovsk, 54°38´49.1´´N 21°53´4´´E, 27.V.1999 (1 ex., an inundated terrace of the Angrapa River, dry pine grove with sandy soil and cover of dry moss and lichens, pitfall traps, leg. Comments: This species is widely distributed in the whole Baltic and Fennoscandian region ( Silfverberg 2004) and it has also been recorded in Belarus ( Alexandrovitch et al. 1996). On the territory of the northern part of the former East Prussia, it has been recorded from the northern part of the Sambian peninsula, in Königsberg [Kaliningrad] and Neuhäuser [Mechnikov] ( Bercio & Folwaczny 1979). The beetles are closely associated with dry moss and lichens growing on sandy soil or pine stumps ( Nikitsky et al. 1996).
