Types. Holotype ♂, CHINA, Yunnan, Longling County,

Longjiang Township, Xiaoheishan Forest Reserve, Guchengshan, 24.82888°N, 98.76001°E, alt. 2020m, 27 May 2005, D. H. Kavanaugh and Charles Griswold leg. (2005–032C).

Etymology. This epithet derives from the Latin adjective “ acerosus ”, meaning “needle-like”, referring to the needle-like posterior end of the lamella characteristca in the male palp.

Diagnosis. This new species can be distinguished from all other congeners by male with round cephalic lobe ( Fig. 107B View FIGURE 107 ); posterior end of lamella characteristca with a long, needle-like projection, extending above the apex of cymbium ( Fig. 106A, B, D); protegulum longer than wide, finger-shaped, with blunt end in ventral view ( Fig. 106D).

Description. Male (holotype, Fig. 107A–C View FIGURE 107 ): Total length: 1.92. Carapace 0.86 long, 0.61 wide; cephalic lobe pale, 0.37, broad, round, with cephalic pits, dark brown; fovea, cervical and radial grooves distinct. Clypeus 0.17 high. Sternum almost round, brown. Labium wider than long. Maxillae long, distal end broad with scopulae. Chelicerae with three promarginal and four retromarginal teeth. Eyes: AER recurved, PER procurved, slightly wider than AER. Eye sizes and interdistances: AME 0.04, ALE 0.06, PME 0.05, PLE 0.05, AME–AME 0.02, PME–PME 0.27, AME–ALE, 0.02, PME–PLE 0.09, AME–PME 0.18, ALE–ALE 0.23, PLE–PLE 0.27, ALE–PLE contiguous. Length of legs: I 3.02 (0.81, 0.97, 0.76, 0.48), II 2.98 (0.83, 0.94, 0.76, 0.45), III 2.37 (0.66, 0.76, 0.60, 0.35), IV 2.8 (0.77, 0.88, 0.75, 0.41). Leg formula I-II-IV-III. Tm I 0.29 and Tm IV 0.21. Tibial spine formula: 2-2-1- 1. Abdomen 1.06 long, 0.66 wide, oval, brown, posterior end with irregular transverse lines.

Palp ( Fig. 106A–D): Patella as long as tibia, curved mesally; tibia with one retrolateral and one dorsal trichobothria, dorsal tibial apophysis sclerotized, tongueshaped in retrolateral and dorsal view, prolateral tibial apophysis short, tapering towards the tip; paracymbium sclerotized, hook-shaped, distal arm broad with irregular margin; distal suprategular apophysis sclerotized, tip slightly grooved, with blunt end; tegulum bell-shaped, proximally with bulged edge, protegulum distinctly developed, finger shaped with blunt end. Lamella characteristca sclerotized, longer than wide, tapering towards tip anteriorly, distal end distinctively long, needlelike, extending above the apex of the cymbium. Embolic membrane small. Embolus sclerotized, moderately long, strongly curved, like inverted U-shaped.
