Widely distributed in the temperate waters of the Southern hemisphere; recorded within the sub-Antarctic AOI, west of South Patagonia ( Wasmer 1986), on the Campbell Plateau and east of the Antipodes Islands ( Webber et al. 1990) and off South Australia ( Wasmer 1993).
