Selenophorus maritimus Casey 1914: 148 View in CoL . Type locality: Texas ( Galveston , Galveston Co.) . Types: USNM #47882.
Descriptive Notes. Pronotum with lateral sides not convergent posteriorly; anterior angles well projected. Eyes large, very convex. Elytra with slight subapical sinuation; seriate punctures moderately large, touching striae; intervals sparsely punctulate, very shiny with hint of iridescence from moderately transverse microsculpture, weakly impressed. Metatarsi long as in Hemisopalus View in CoL , as long as metatibiae; metatarsomere 1 especially long. Metatarsi with sparse to moderate pubescence dorsally. Femora testaceous to dark brown. Dorsal luster dark greenish metallic. Dimorphism + ♂ 1 — ♀ 2. Median lobe long and slender toward small blunt apex. Endophallus with bilateral pair of long, spiny, winglike structures convergent toward ostium. Slender lamina in ostium with apical, dorsally directed hook. ABL 4.9–6.2 mm.
