Dimorphism + ♂ 1 — ♀ 2 with one aberrant + ♂ 2 from Kansas (Douglas Co.: Lawrence) (WIRC). Median lobe with dorsoapical plate short, sides converged subacutely toward apex, lip inconspicuous. Endophallus without spines; indistinct dark membranous field in ostium. ABL 4.5–6.5 mm .

Range. CAN: ON; USA: AL, AR, AZ, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY*, LA, MD, MO, MS, MT, NC, NJ, NM, NY, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, VA, WI, WV, WY; Mexico.

Remarks. Casey’ s descriptions of the four species here proposed for synonymy are subtle and difficult to interpret. We found no convincing differences from S. pedicularius among vast studied material from the southern states. Photographs of the four type specimens supported our conclusion. Genitalia were not available for comparison.
