Brittonema pygidiatum Kirejtshuk, 2011: 58 ; Australia, Queensland.

Specimens examined. Type series examined by Kirejtshuk (2011). This species also is mentioned and pictured by Lawrence & Ślipiński (2013).

Diagnosis. This species differs from another described congener in the smaller and more slender body (6.2–7.8 mm), head with emarginate anterior edge, temples acutely projecting behind eyes, V-shaped depression between the antennal insertions, less projecting and subquadrangular male labrum, lack of clear sexual dimorphism in the structure of mandibles, much longer abdominal segments uncovered by elytra, widely rounded apex of the male pygidium, rounded apex of the male anal sclerite, narrower mentum, narrower tarsi, not dentate tarsal claws, comparatively coarser punctation on the dorsum and simple rows of punctures in striae between longitudinal elevated interstrial spaces on elytra, and also in the structure of the male genitalia.
