Leptostylus orbiculus View in CoL was described based on at least two specimens (sex not informed) from Mexico (Veracruz) and Nicaragua (Chontales). Chemsak & Linsley (1970) designated a specimen from Nicaragua as lectotype. According to Bates (1880), “fasciculo centro-basali elevato [centrobasal tuft elevate]”, indicating the presence of a single centrobasal crest. Currently, this species is known from Mexico (Veracruz), Honduras, and Nicaragua ( Monné 2020).
