DISTRIBUTION: Java.
COMMENT: Ellerman and Morrison-Scott, 1951:260, and Lekagul and McNeely, 1977:536, listed Java as part of the distribution of sibirica , inferring that lutreolina is included in that species; and were followed by Corbet, 1978:170; but see Ewer, 1973, The Carnivores, p. 394; Heptner and Naumov, eds., 1967, [Mammals of the Soviet Union], 2(1), pp. 700-712, who considered lutreolina a distinct species.
