Remarks. No previous records of this widely distributed species was known from Cyprus a part from an old generic quotation from “ Chypre [E. Simon et E. Desch. 1893-94]” by Kraepelin (1904). Turk (1952: 656) quoted under Scolopendra dalmatica C.L. Koch, 1847 a specimen 82 mm long from Mount Pentadaktilon. This specimen, now stored at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, whose data label corresponds exactly to those published by Turk except the year of collection, probably for a print error, has been checked by one of us (SS) and must be undoubtedly assigned to this species.
The generic quotations of Scolopendra from neighbourhood of Larnaca and the top of Mount Troodos by Sinclair (1895) are here referred to this species.
